DONATIONS

As a non-profit organization, we survive due to the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations that are committed to seeing the collections of the Western Foundation last in perpetuity and remain available to researchers, educators, and students.

If you would like to donate to the WFVZ, please contact us! We have opportunities for planned giving and other creative ways to contribute!

OUR CURRENT WISH LIST...

The following items represent our most pressing program needs at this time. If you are interested in supporting the Western Foundation, please consider making a donation to address one of these!

Acrylic boxes: many of our live-mount specimens still need boxes to protect them from dust. Priced from $25 to $500 depending on the size of the bird specimen, any donation toward the boxes would be helpful!

The Ed N. Harrison Memorial Scholarship Fund: if you are interested in contributing to this fund, please note that all donations will go toward the student scholarships. No money will be spent on Western Foundation operating expenses or other projects. In addition, since the Western Foundation is a
501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization, any donations made to the Ed N. Harrison Memorial Scholarship Fund are tax-deductible.

Guatemala Bird Diversity Project involves inventories of breeding birds throughout the country, monitoring of birds by banding and population counts, classes for Guatemalan biology students, and outreach to local Guatemalan people. As part of our outreach, we purchase textiles, jewelry, and other items from Mayan and Ladino Guatemalans, to help get money into the local economy. We sell these items at our fundraising events, to help the Foundation continue its work in the country. If you like our project, please feel free to donate at any level!
