Nests...
The Foundation has more than 18,000
specimens from around the world, representing the largest collection
of nests in North America, and probably in the world.
Currently, we are photographing nests and eggs for the Cornell
Laboratory of Ornithology’s “Birds of North America
(BNA) On-Line project”. From 1990 to 2002, the WFVZ measured
bird eggs for the hardcopy version of the BNA series. Now the
species accounts are on the internet, and in 2005 and 2006,
we will photograph nests and eggs of approximately 600 North
American bird species. (See www.birds.cornell.edu/birdsofna.)
Fox Sparrow (Passerella iliaca) nest.

Mississippi Kite (Ictinia mississippiensis) nest and
mounts.
